The hub in our clue is a detail from the sculpture Provincetown Wheels by George Greenamyer. It is located at 121 Bay State Road in front of Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies.
It is on the Boston University campus in the Bay State Road/Back Bay West Area Architectural Conservation District.
Smithsonian's data base of outdoor sculpture describes it as,
"The sculpture, which represents the ideas of motion and transportation, is composed of three pairs of wagon wheels connected by a central horizontal element. Each pair of wheels has a hub and an axle which connects the two. The diameter of each wheel is 3 1/2 ft. The sculpture rests on a rectangular granite base."
Finally, as regular readers know, we love Provincetown!
