You never know what sights you'll come across as you walk the streets of Provincetown. But, we did not expect to see a piano tuner working on the sidewalk.
Note-by-note he adjusted the strings on this old upright.
Tuning can be done with tuning forks, but this gentleman had a chromatic tuner
to guide his work.
He attracted more attention than some of the street musicians we had passed along the way, but he did not have a tip jar so we had to assume he wasn't a licensed performer!
If caring for pianos has always fascinated you, the North Bennet Street School offers the opportunity to learn the skills you need for a career in that field.
