The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) has been a Boston institution since 1845. Their headquarters have been on Newbury Street since 1964.
Yet, many Bostonians have never ventured into this storehouse of information about the history of families. Others, curious about their own family, or the families who once in this area, have experienced how accommodating this organization can be.
Click over to their website AmericanAncestors.org and explore the resources they have for finding out more about your family history.
Shopping at Amazon from here keeps information coming your way. You shop as usual and Amazon rewards BostonZest with a commission.
Here's the link to a great book on today's topic, You Can Write Your Family History. And a couple of books from NEHGS President, D. Brenton Simons. Boston Beheld: Antique Town and Country Views
and Witches, Rakes, and Rogues
