Sunny days make us think of favorite picnic spots around Boston. We plan to share a few of these with you in the weeks ahead. Today, we'll lure you outside by suggesting sandwiches from Parish Cafe to enjoy in the Boston Public Garden.
Very Special Sandwiches
Parish is known for sandwiches designed by area chefs. You can order a "Spicy Tuna Burger, Created by: Tim Cushman, Chef/Owner- o ya, Boston"; "Egg Sandwich Lyonnaise, Created by: Tony Maws, Executive Chef/ Owner-Craigie on Main, Cambridge"; or "The Regal Regis Created by: Susan Regis, Chef-Upstairs on the Square, Cambridge."
The menu changes and there are specials so you should find something for all tastes. The sandwiches are large enough to share, especially if you add something from their appetizer menu.
Their own Chef/Owner, Sean Simmons knows how to fill you with comfort food. He created the sandwich you see in the photo above. It's Sean’s Meatloaf Club and is "Homemade chipotle meatloaf on Texas toast with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon and chipotle-mayo. Served with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy."
Off to the Garden to Dine Al Fresco
Once you've picked up your sandwiches head over to the Garden, pick a sunny bench, and think about how wonderful it is to live in a city with so many green spaces.
