These beautiful winter squash and pumpkins from Atlas Farm make wonderful additions to soups and stews. These beauties were at the Copley Square Farmers' Market which will remain open until Thanksgiving.
This beef stew had butternut squash and frozen peas added to increase the nutrition. It also adds a note of sweetness to the dish.
I bought a pumpkin to try a Pumpkin Turkey Chili recipe that I spotted over on Serious Eats. The recipe calls for canned pumpkin but I'm going to make mine with fresh puree.

Here are the two Le Creuset French Ovens that I've made space for in my tiny kitchen. To store them, I turn the cover over on the big one and stack the small one on top of it on a sturdy baker's rack.
