A Clams Card (Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing) can lighten your Cape Cod getaway suitcase. Libraries throughout the Cape will issue Massachusetts residents a Clams Card that allows you to borrow materials from most libraries on the Cape and Islands.
We love the Provincetown Library!
The Provincetown Library has a wonderful selection of books that I look forward to borrowing each year. This is a place that understands the term beach books. Every year I discover new authors, great mysteries, and perhaps a more serious book or two.
They also have nice selection of CDs, DVDs, cookbooks, nature and historic material that are perfect for vacationers and visitors.
Here's what Provincetown says about getting a Clams Card:
"Library cards are free to Massachusetts residents. There is a $25.00 annual fee for out-of-state residents who do not own property in Provincetown. There is an additional $1.00 charge for each replacement Library card issued."
More Library Resources
Internet access, public computers, printers, and public restrooms are additional resources provided by the library when it is open.
The building and its historic collection is also one of the sites any visitor to Provincetown might enjoy. You'll discover a half-scale model of the fishing schooner Rose Dorothea. Dedicated on June 25, 1988, the completed model spans a 66’6” length and a 12’6” beam.
