It was opening weekend for the SoWa Open Market in Boston's South End, and we just had to join the party!
Artists, craftspeople, specialty food producers and farmers brought out their wares from many surrounding areas.
This stand from Chepatchet, RI had some great looking greens
Artisans displayed their creations from paintings and furniture, to jewelry and clothing.
Posing for all to see
There was a lot to see, and we took a break in our day by ducking into Rocca.
The restaurant set-up outside with prepared sandwiches
It's been on our list, okay on Penny's list, for a long time but after one taste of Rocca's "Ricotta Pancakes," I'm the one lobbying for a return visit– maybe tonight.
The weather was perfect for the entire weekend, most of which we spent outdoors.
Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, and why not. It was the start of a brand new market season that lasts through October!
