We were out and about in a Zipcar last week and stopped in for a late lunch. Sofra opens at 8 a.m. with a breakfast menu that's available until 11 a.m. Then they switch over to an enticing menu of flatbreads, mezze, salads and sweets that will put you in a real decision dilemma.
We're able to enjoy the hummus and mezze selection that Sofra sends to the Copley Square Farmers' Market with Sienna Farms, so we opted for fresh-from-the-oven flatbreads. Our favorite was the sausage with cumin & orange, feta, hot peppers and green olives.
For dessert we shared an Egyptian Bread Pudding served with a small pitcher of cream. It's one of those homey, warming, comfort foods that you think about with a smile, days after you have it.
We can get to Sofra by bus, but think walking the 4 miles would let us share a few extra menu items without guilt. Then perhaps a stroll around Mount Auburn Cemetery as a digestive!
