It's time to make reservations if you plan to dine out on Easter. Looking over the possibilities, we can recommend a few places, if the quality of the food is as important to you as the time spent with family and friends.
Our picksHamersley's Bistro for Easter Brunch. This choice will please anyone who puts the food first in choosing an Easter dining spot. The prix fixe Easter Brunch Menu offers Spring fruit and Sunday muffin to start, followed by a wide ranging selection of entrees. They have your whole party covered with everything from waffles and egg dishes to roast Lamb. This is followed by three dessert options.
The Top of the Hub can be a great place if you are faced with pleasing a multi-generational family group. The views can add distraction and conversation, while the menu will have something for most tastes. They're offering their regular menu on Easter.
(edit: 3.25.10- Top of the Hub let us know that they have added a special menu for Easter Brunch and dinner plus a special treat. "All Easter Brunch & Dinner guests will enjoy complimentary admission to the Skywalk Observatory on the 50th floor of the Prudential Building.")
Bina Osteria will be open for dinner with their usual menu. If you prefer a lovely meal later in the day, this is the reservation to make. They can satisfy your craving from small plates of Antipasti, through pastas and perfectly prepared meat and game. Here are other lists for more choices.
For this holiday, there are a few excellent lists of restaurants with special menus and hours for Easter.
Open Table seems to have the most complete information, and you can click right through to make reservations. Don't limit yourself to the restaurants on their special list. You can go to the regular site and enter the time you want, to see what's available beyond Easter specials.Don't be surprised if some places require a credit card to secure the reservation. This is the type of holiday when people may book multiple restaurants and decide where to go at the last moment. That can make the restaurant turn away potential customers.
Boston Chef's has a shorter list from their members.
Gayot lists favorite brunches:
Added 3.28.10- our pals up at North Shore Dish have created a great list of Brunch suggestions in their area with notes on Easter and Mother's Day. Kristen added info in a comment below but we did decided to put it right here in the post.
added 3.31.10- see the comment below for the details on Easter brunch at Bina.
Don't miss an Easter photo opportunity. This Canon G11 kit will give you what you need to take stills and video of your Easter celebration. This is our all-time favorite everyday camera. It's a little bigger than the compacts most people use, but it lets you shoot with automatic settings or easy-to-use manual controls that please the many pros who use it as a second camera.
