There was a time when the Lagoon at the Public Garden was the place to skate in the heart of Boston. These days there's organized skating at the Frog Pond on the Boston Common. But, over the weekend a few intrepid skaters were testing their skills on the Zamboni-free ice of the lagoon–sometimes hitting a bump and taking the consequences.
