Consider a visit to the "Fenway Studios Annual Open Studio Celebration" as you make plans for this weekend. This open studio event offers you a dual opportunity. You're able to enjoy the work of an important group of Boston artists who live and work in the building. And, you view their work in a space that has known the brush stokes and footfalls of important Boston area artists since 1905.
The Art Deco building itself is a treasure. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has a very unusual design that enables an artist to have a workspace with wonderful Northern light streaming through 12 foot tall windows and cross ventilation made possible by a unique skip-floor corridor system.
We look forward to this event each year and plan to stop by, visit a few more artists and enjoy exploring an important Boston architectural landmark. Be sure to visit the Friends of the Fenway Studio website to learn more about the artists and the building.
Here's a perfect gift for anyone who love to wander around Boston looking at the architecture.
