Edible Boston publishes a print magazine and has a website full of information and resources. They're our "Friday Link" this week.
We picked up a copy of the Fall issue this week and again smiled as we found old friends and familiar products on its pages.
John Lee from Allandale Farm writing in the "Farmer's Diary" asked Edible Boston readers to do our part to take better care of Mother Earth.
A feature on cider donuts starred Russell Orchards where we've been known to indulge. That article also contains a recipe for "Cider Donut Bread Pudding." Isn't that the best reason ever for a weekend jaunt to pick up a few dozens cider donuts?
Next, we met the couple behind one of Ed's favorite breweries, Pretty Things. It's wonderful to read about people following their hearts and turning a passion into a life's work.
Deborah Taylor from Deborah's Kitchen has written a tribute to the local apple harvest in this issue. She's even put together a chart of 17 local apple varieties that list the season, a description, and best use for each. (We're currently enjoying a jar of Deborah's "Pear Lime Limbo" spreadable fruit.)
Speaking of Deborahs-Deborah Madison's Books are great gifts for anyone who loves to eat local or vegetarian food. Her are a couple of our favorites or click here
to go to her entire collection.
And, that's just a peek at the current issue. The website is loaded with recipes, information and resources. Click over to Edible Boston and explore the site. I also recommend you use their find a copy button and pick up a print issue. The photography alone is reason to keep Edible Boston on your coffee table.
Each week we point out another website that you might find useful. If you have a site you'd like to nominate for a Friday link, give us the information in the comment section, and we'll take a look. If you prefer to make a private nomination, just click the "email me" link on the right and send your ideas that way.
