Last weekend we visited the North Bennet Street School during their annual open house. We learned that in celebration of 125 years of educating people in crafts they will have a major exhibition at the Concord Museum.
We've enjoyed the shows that they've staged at the Boston College of Architecture. This one, at the museum, sounds wonderful, and we're looking forward to a trip to Concord to see it.
The invitation calls "Dedication to Craft– North Bennet Street School @125,"
"A juried exhibition of furniture, jewelry, musical instruments, bookbindings, and preservation carpentry crafted by fifty-nine of the renowned North End school's most distinguished Alumni."
In addition to the exhibit, the museum has planned a series of related events. Some of those already scheduled are hands-on opportunities to learn some of the skills of boxmaking, bookbinding and carpentry.
This show and associated programs will run from November 13, 2009 through March 21, 2010. Admission to this exhibit is included in the general admission price to the museum– $10 for adults and $8 for seniors.
