This week I reported on the Harvard University Farmers' Market for my "Market Scene" report over on Serious Eats. Tuesday is this market's day so stop by if you're in the area.
Here is a link to my full report:
Market Scene: Harvard University Farmers' Market, Cambridge, Massachusetts
As the t-shirt says, the market is just outside of Harvard Yard at the intersection of Oxford and Kirkland Streets. Memorial Hall is a good landmark.
When I shop a great farmers market, my Deborah Madison cookbooks
show me how to use all that great produce.
Remember to begin all your Amazon shopping from our site to keep the zest flowing.
Here's a bit of the news that arrived yesterday from Market Manager, Theresa McCulla.
And Philip Francis, a graduate student at Harvard Divinity School, will set up Lefty’s Silver Cart (a market-inspired lunch truck!) in the chef’s demo space next to the market manager’s tent. Philip buys vegetables fresh from our farmers’ market and within minutes magically transforms them into delicious vegetarian sandwiches hot off the griddle for your lunching pleasure.
Lefty’s will be at our market every 3 weeks beginning tomorrow. Make plans for a farmers’ market lunch + shopping trip with your friends and coworkers!"
You can sign up for email newsletters at the Harvard Farmers' Market webpage.
