A
local expert on Architecture just recommended this book for
my study of
Boston architecture.
I love it and will do a full review after I have

The chimney pot in the clue is on top of 167 Commonwealth Avenue. Designed by Sturgis and Brigham and built in 1880 this property has one of the more distinctive chimney pots on the street.
Chimney pots add length to a chimney, and many designs are available to improve draft, correct chimney problems, and protect from wind and rain entering the updraft system. In historic neighborhoods, appropriate chimney pots are a finishing touch that help a building fit the period.
