Cuisine en Locale is our "Friday Link" this week. JJ Gonson has used her blog to help connect city dwellers with local meat this winter. Working with Stillman's at the Turkey Farm she has announced and helped to coordinate "Meat Meets."

She's just announced the time and place for the next two Saturdays. This is just in time for you to order a fresh ham or other roast for your Easter Table. Here's a link to those details:

I have not had a whole ham from Stillman's, but their ham slices are a favorite around here during the farmers' market season. Stillman pork is full flavored, and their ham is fabulous. If you want to be certain a ham is on the truck for you contact Stillman's directly at the link below and place an order.
Don't forget that leftover ham makes wonderful, omelets, frittatas, hash, and should be used to treat the family to a big breakfast of eggs, ham, home fries and toast.
Of course, there's more than meat to explore at Cuisine en Locale. JJ is wonderful about supporting local farmers but she also points out area restaurants, and she promotes others who are writing about local food. And, sometimes she just makes you pause and think about an aspect of local food she explores with her writing.
By the way, If you know of other local farms offering hams or other feature roast for the upcoming holidays, please give us the information in comments below. Those who belong to Meat CSAs, let us know if your farmer has more supply available with contact information for readers.
