Fences, along sidewalks and in parks, serve as Boston's lost and found department for items like hats, gloves, dog boots and even hubcaps.
Good neighbors pick up found objects and put them in highly visible places on the wrought iron pickets and posts hoping that they will be reunited with their owners.
Of course, if the item is more valuable than these or if you have lost an item, you can use the resources listed below to help coordinate a reunion.
