We love good food! Most of the time we cook our own or dine out. But, after certain busy days take-out or delivery seems to be the best option.
We have our favorite Indian, Thai, and Malaysian, options. All these foods are great take out (if you make the right choices) because the stewy nature of many of the dishes allows the food to retain quality on the trip to the table. Sometimes it tastes even better reheated.
We also have a comfort food order that passes the same test and, when ordered on a Friday evening, feeds us through a busy weekend.
We never been to a "Maggiano's Little Italy" restaurant, but we often have food delivered from their kitchen. Our busy weekend order consists of:
Italian Antipasti Salad
Romaine and iceberg mix, salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, halved grape tomatoes, broccoli, white beans, red onions, provolone cheese, pepperoncini, croutons, and Kalamata olives, in Italian vinaigrette dressing.
Whole Roast Chicken, Rosemary, Garlic
A whole chicken marinated in fresh herbs, then roasted, and cut into pieces. Served in a light chicken sauce.
Crispy Red Potatoes
Baked Ziti and Sausage
Italian sausage, pomodoro sauce and ziti topped with Parmesan and provolone cheese.
This selection gives us enough food for a weekend of meals, reheats without losing much quality, and lets us eat without coordinating our dining schedules.
Our advice when ordering take-out or delivery is to think about how the food will reheat. If it won't be good the next day, you may want to be sure that the restaurant is very close to you and that you'll be ready to eat the moment it arrives.
